Birthday Celebration with Love @ Xenri Fine Japanese Cuisine, Menara Hap Seng KL

Yours truly has finally turned into 24. I am always happy to finally turn a year older than before and thinking that that way, friends won't call me little girl, which is totally wrong as they won't stop calling me that no matter what.

Eric has prepared a special blog post that comes with gifts from various comic artists that made my tears falling down like waterfall just when the clock struck 12 midnight yesterday. Not only has he given me several pre-birthday gifts as well as the birthday trip to Singapore, he also treated me with a wonderful birthday dinner at Xenri Fine Japanese Cuisine.

I always curious where he is going to bring me for birthday dinner each year as he always said we are going to celebrate my birthday at McDonalds but he ended up surprise me with something I love. This year, I thought it's going to be different as he told me he has booked a table for two at Secret of Louisiana at 7.30pm which also means we are going to dine by the lake in the evening. I didn't think about his plan when he told me that he is going to bring me to KL for shopping as I wish since it was my birthday, I was so happy as it's really a rare case where he willing drive me down to KL for shopping only! Until when I actually bored of shopping (super rare case!) and worry about the traffic jam from KL to Kelana Jaya, I bugged him so we leave the mall. At that time, he kept on telling me we have plenty of time and I still can continue to do my shopping. However we still ended up leaves the mall around 6.30pm.

Just when he turned into Menara Hap Seng and I realized that he lied to me, again! Geez! Though I still didn't know which restaurant we're heading to and he refused to tell me anything about it too. We went up and reached Xenri Fine Japanese Cuisine which also marked the third birthday celebration with him in a Japanese restaurant. I just love Japanese cuisines. (ෆ ͒•∘̬• ͒)◞

Don't worry, he didn't book the entire place just to celebrate my birthday. (*ノ▽ノ) I really love the cozy ambiance of the restaurant and knowing that this restaurant being the top Japanese restaurant in Malaysia as well as received a number of awards with their award-winning chefs, I just can't wait to enjoy the foods!

Mango Juice
Pink Guava
Both Mango and Pink Guava chilled juices were refreshing.

We were served with a set of complimentary appetizer which tasted really good.

This is another appetizer for the night. We loved this very much, the silk bean curd topped with scallop lips (I think) and dressed in miso gravy definitely tasted really great!

The sashimi set served in three different types of sashimi - salmon, tuna and mackerel. We're in love how it actually melts in our mouths the moment we put it into our mouth. Fresh and delicious! ॱ॰⋆(˶ॢ‾᷄﹃‾᷅˵ॢ) ӵᵘᵐᵐᵞ♡♡♡

Age Dashi Doufu

I didn't know what's the name for this dish as it's included in the Kaisake set. As you can see from the picture above, it's a dragon fruit. It was stuffed with baked cheese mixture of oyster and the chunks of dragon fruit itself. It was surprisingly yummy! Too bad, it was too cheesy for me to handle.

Saba Shioyaki
Yours truly loves Shioyaki dish, be it salmon or mackerel. This plate of Saba Shioyaki is the best I have ever tried so far, I just can't get enough of this by myself.

Zaru Soba
The Zaru Soba served with the cold soup together with chopped spring onions, wasabi paste and a raw quail egg. This is unique and something different, Eric poured the quail egg into the soup and mixed them up before soak the noodles into it. It tasted really nice but it could have been better if the noodle is springy.

Seafood Tea Pot Soup
We were quite surprised to see the soup was served in a teapot instead of normal bowl. It may look like a clear soup but it's actually tasted really great with a hint of sourish that comes from the lime slice. We loved it!

Sushi Set
The sushi set is the main dish in the Sushi Kaisake set that we have ordered. It has a various selection of sushis in sizable portion. All of them are lovely and totally enjoyed my sushis galore for the night!

The dessert in the Sushi Kaisake set was this green tea ice cream with mochis. Eric loved the rich taste of green tea of the ice cream as well as the mochi! One of them was peanut butter mochi, special and yummy!

We also had this huge chocolate parfait to complete the meal. The texture of the ice cream is more icy than milky, which means it contains less milk and perfect for lactose intolerant person like me. That's the only night Eric allowed me to enjoy most of it without worrying of my unwell tummy or vomiting after having milk.

Yours truly
Eric
