In support of the local independent businesses and homegrown brands, the much-anticipated two-day artisan bazaar Markets by Jaya One, also known as Markets 16, thronged by a 5,000-strong crowd over the weekend in The School, Jaya One.
Boasting an astounding 114 vendors this time around, the carnival-like Markets 16 was touted as the largest one to date. Fashionistas and food lovers were spoiled for choice as there was a wide array of participating vendors ranging from fashion, accessories, vintage finds, handcrafted items, artisanal food and lots more. Bargain hunters were thrilled to find that there was an additional 20% off given on top of the discounted items when they shopped via the latest mobile marketplace Shopee Malaysia, which was the main sponsor for Markets 16.
Shoppers were also in for a delightful treat as the first 50 people excitedly walked away with exclusive goodie bags during the Special Goodie Bag Hour, consisting a host of shopping vouchers, limited-edition fashion items as well as homemade cosmetic products from various vendors namely iL Puro, Josh Lee Fragrances, Claire Organics, Hook Clothing, Vintage 1988 and more.
The artsy atmosphere was further heightened by the lively acoustic singing performances by emerging local talents such as Djezna’s Stalker, Joanne and Julia, Ryan Tan Jzu Earn, jazz performers SKAZZ Band, just to name a few. Crowd was seen singing along and cheering to their favorite band enthusiastically.
