3 Simple Breakfast Ideas

When you're working from home and staying so far away from your family, we tend to skip their breakfast and just settle with two meals - brunch and dinner - where you can easily have it outside. As for me, since ever I got my own place, I start watching Youtube videos on how to make simple breakfast at home. And, that's how I learn how to cook at home too!

Here I have three simple breakfast ideas that I often make at home that actually super easy and yummy, most importantly, it's healthier that way too!

Fruits
I love berries! I always make sure my fridge is loaded with different type of fruits, especially the berries! If I don't feel like having anything heavy and just wanted to have something to fill my not-so-hungry tummy, fresh fruit juices and fruits are my favourite choice for breakfast! I mix three different berries - strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries - and drizzled with honey, it's yummy and nutritious too!

If you're not into fruit juices, you can always replace it by drinking milk too! Just so you know that by drinking two glasses of Nestlé Omega Plus with added plant sterols daily to manage cholesterol can improve your heart health too!

Mixed Cereals
Whenever I'm in a rush for a morning meeting and hungry, I will just have a quick mixed cereal breakfast. Since I am lactose intolerant, I would mix my cereal with Nestum or milo. I know it's weird, but I enjoy it that way anyway.

Pasta
Pasta may sound like a really heavy breakfast, but hey, there's always some day when I got super hungry or if I know I have a meeting appointment that only going to end in the late afternoon, pasta is definitely a better choice for my breakfast. What I love about pasta, I can do it in any way I want it - Aglio olio or bolognese - pair it with simple ingredients and you're done! Of course, I do enjoy making sandwiches, muffin breakfast, or even chicken breast with salad, for my breakfast.

I would feel much better if I am in control of the ingredient used in the meal preparation, this way you can avoid having anything with too high cholesterol. High cholesterol often leads to heart disease and having a dad who has high blood pressure taught me a lot too. By just making some simple lifestyle changes such as exercise and eating healthier food, or by just walking, you're able to improve your heart health as well as avoiding the development of heart disease.

On a side note, to encourage Malaysians to take action for their heart health now instead of much later when symptoms of heart disease have already manifested, brands such as Nestle Omega Plus have made it their mission to be Malaysia’s heart health advocate. Saturday, Sept 3rd will see Malaysians young and old converge on Lake Gardens (Perdana Botanical Gardens) for Walk-A- Mile, Malaysia’s longest running walk for heart health advocacy, jointly organised by Nestlé Omega Plus and Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (YJM).
