#ThreeGen Goes To Bangkok!

Bangkok, is definitely one of my favourite cities to go to and I never get bored of it. While others enjoy shopping in Bangkok, the main reason I go back there mainly to enjoy the food! What made this year trip to Bangkok even more fun was because it was the very first #ThreeGen trip ever.

Why #ThreeGen?
Because it consists of 70s, 80s and 90s in this trip.

:: HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP ::

As I will be writing more about each place, I thought I would just do a quick highlight summary of our trip in this post.

- TOTORO CAFE -
// 18 Soi Lak Khet (Sukhumvit Soi 29), Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

It's best to make an advance reservation if you really want to come to this cafe. They serve Thai cuisines from appetizer, mains and desserts, but we only ordered the desserts as we were still quite full from our breakfast earlier.

I kid you not, everything so delicious and it doesn't feel like you are going to a themed cafe just for the gimmick only :p
And oh, you can literally take tonnes of nice photos inside and outside of the restaurant, they are just so Instagram-worthy!

- NEON NIGHT MARKET -

I was so glad that we are able to visit my most favourite Train Market (Talad Rot Fai) and get to check out the Neon Market. We found out that it is only there for a limited time and it's so fun to find out interesting stuff in different night market there!
- CHATUCHAK WEEKEND MARKET -

As much as I hate the heat, I love checking out stores in Chatuchak and this year, I actually found tonnes of cute stuff in Chatuchak market! I think I spent quite a bit here and the only bummer was - it rained most of the time when we're there.

- MERMAID CASTLE CAFE -

I've heard SO MUCH hype about this place and it turned out one of those gimmicky themed cafes out there. Each pax have to order at least 1 item from the menu in order to go upstairs where the real mermaid cafe at. You will pass by the gift shop section and I thought the stuff they sell there were quite lovely!

The entire cafe was plain and it's a challenge to take nice photos (then I realized I actually got fooled by those fancy photos on the Internet). What's worst? The food was not good, they tasted like just the same from some normal bakery shop out there or maybe worse than some of them. Most of it tasted super artificial to us.

- THAI FOODS GALORE -

Most of my friends always ask me this question - why do you wanna go back to Bangkok when you can't even eat spicy food?! - I'm like seriously, I mean, Tom Yum is not the only food available in Bangkok! I love the pad thai, salted grilled fish, coconut water, tangerine juice, mango sticky rice, pork satay, basil pork rice, fried chicken, mango salad, omelette, etc etc etc.

Back to the trip - planning a trip for 6 pax was quite difficult and there are few factors to be taken into the consideration such as not all of us have the flexibility when it comes to applying for leave; budget; flight ticket price, etc etc. I'm so glad that we made it for this trip and already looking forward to future trips together! In fact, 4 of us booked our flight ticket through Malindo Airlines months ago for our #DoubleTrouble annual trip together! *Can't wait!*

ps: Did you know that Malindo Air Airlines has recently launched new routes with amazing discounts too!? Grab it before it's too late! ;)
